IN A SOCIETY WHERE TIME FOR REFLECTION IS OFTEN A LUXURY, MY WORK IS INTENDED TO RAISE QUESTIONS...
ABOUT WHAT WE ARE TO EACH OTHER AND WHO WE ARE IN RELATION TO THE ARCHETYPAL IMAGES THAT RESONATE
THROUGH HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS.  I STRIVE TO DISTILL MY EXPERIENCES AS A HUMAN BEING INTO LINES AND FORMS THAT EFFECTIVELY CONVEY THE EMOTIONAL TRUTH OF THESE EXPERIENCES TO OTHERS.  tHE ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO IMPART A SENSE OF RECOGNITION, OF FAMILIARITY, OF DEJA VU, IF YOU WILL.  INDEED YOU KNEW IT ALL THE TIME.

IN MY MOST RECENT SERIES OF PRINTS, I EXPLORE QUESTIONS OF MAN'S PLACE IN SOCIETY, AND THE MECHANISMS,
IN A SOCIETY AS WEALTHY AS OURS, THAT ALLOW PERSISTENT HUNGER AND HOMELESSNESS TO EXIST.
ARE THERE, INDEED, DIFFERENT KINDS OF HUMAN BEINGS.  OR DOES OUR DENIAL OF OUR OWN VULNERABILITY
RESULT IN A REFUSAL TO ACKNOWLEDGE OUR OWN KINSHIP WITH THOSE WHO ARE ECONOMICALLY DISAD-
VANTAGED?  THE MATERIALS ARE DELIBERATELY KEPT SIMPLE. DISPENSING WITH THE GLORY OF COLOR, I
USE BLACK INK AND BROWN WRAPPING PAPER AS A MUCH MORE APPROPRIATE VEHICLE FOR THE SUBJECT
MATTER OF THESE PRINTS.  THESE ARE VERY LARGE PRINTS, ALMOST LIFE SIZE.  I SUSPECT THAT LARGE PRINTS
NEED A LARGE THEME.
